The City of Hapeville lies between Interstates 75 and 85 just south of Atlanta, Georgia. It is a transportation hub of sorts: Atlanta's Hartsfield International Airport lies on its southern border, the main city corridor, Central Avenue, is flanked by a major railway line, and the city hosts a large Ford Motor Company manufacturing plant. In its redevelopment efforts, the City is trying to develop itself into a walking community. The adaptive reuse of the College Street School building attempts to utilize the transportation theme in the creation of 29 loft style condominiums.
